NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States during July 2022, an increase of 4% over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States during August 2022. That's a 13% increase over 2019.
Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States is our number one market for inbound tourism for Israel. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we had record-breaking numbers of tourists from Israel visiting Israel every month. We are thrilled to witness such a positive shift, and we expect it to continue for a long time."
נווה פריצקי Canada is also on track, as the United States, to surpass the amount of tourists that visit Israel. In July 2022, Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August saw 6,600.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are close to our record numbers for the year 2019. We anticipate that this growth will continue as Canadians visit more countries.
Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million international visitors in 2019 and this included 969.600 being from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all visitors, regardless whether they have been vaccination-free. The country has already hosted more than 600,000.
