NEW YORK - Sep. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - The Israel Ministry of Tourism today released new records for the number of tourists coming in Israel from the United States in July and august. The country welcomed 78,000 Americans during July 2022. It was a 4 percent increase over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in August 2022.
Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. "It is exciting to once again witness an rise in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching the record-breaking numbers in 2019," he stated. "The United States is our number one destination for our inbound tourism to Israel. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we had record numbers of tourists from Israel visiting Israel each month. We are so happy to have witnessed such a positive shift and expect this trend to last throughout the months and years to come."
Just like the United States, Canada is also on track to exceed its tourist arrivals in Israel by 7,200 tourists in the month of July 2022 and 6,000 in August.

We're not too away from our record-setting 2019 numbers and we expect that this surge in Israel travel will continue to increase as Canadians feel more comfortable travelling abroad."
Israel welcomed over 4.6 million tourists in 2019. 969,600 were of the United States. The country's official reopening to all travelers in May was a success, with more than 600,000.
